Replace failed bulkhead with Large Woody Debris Mill Creek Cowlitz County Longview, WA
Date:Mar 01, 2009

During the January 2009 storm, the creek over topped, destroyed this old bulkhead and was threatening to take out the house. KES took Large Woody Debris (LWD) that had been deposited downstream and rebuilt the bulkhead. Ten pieces of LWD were placed below the water line at the toe of the slope and then large riprap rock were placed on top of the LWD. Six pieces of large concrete from the old bulkhead were also removed from the creek bottom. KES performed the design, permitting, and provided construction oversight.
