During the January 2009 storm, the creek over topped, destroyed this old bulkhead and was threatening to take out the house. KES took Large Woody Debris (LWD) that had been deposited downstream and re–built the bulkhead. Ten pieces of LWD were placed below the water line at the toe of the slope and then large rip–rap rock were placed on top of the LWD. Six pieces of large concrete from the old bulkhead were also removed from the creek bottom. KES performed the design, permitting, and provided construction oversight.
