PACIFIC COUNTY ANGLERS

Grant & Permitting Pacific County Menlo, WA
Date:Jun 10, 2010

Wrote an RCO-SRFB grant to remove two concrete weirs at the mouth of Green Creek. The grant was approved, and the project will be constructed during the summer of 2012. Currently, the two weirs are a complete fish passage barrier. The private landowner will maintain the existing man-made pond and the current water level. With the removal of these two weirs it will open up approximately 5.89 miles of fish habitat. The project will be installing two Large Woody Debris structures downstream, removing the concrete weirs, installing a new screened intake for the pond, and installing riparian plantings along both sides of the 800′ to the mouth of Green Creek. The project also provides great connectivity to another SRFB project upstream, that removed the only other fish barrier on Green Creek.
