Permitting for Gravel Removal Lewis County Chehalis, WA
Date:Jun 10, 2013

Obtaining the required permits including the; Hydraulic Project Approval (HPA) from WDFW, Shorelines and Grade and Fill permits from Lewis County. The HPA is to remove 50 cubic yards of gravel a year for 5 years. The Alexander’s are losing a large amount of property even during minor storm events. KES also is trying to working with Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) as this small amount of gravel removal is only a temporary fix to a much larger problem. This large erosion issue could potentially cause huge problems for the SR 6 bridge
over the Chehalis River. WSDOT was contacted and felt that the erosion was still 600′ upstream of the bridge and were not concerned.
